Russia Extends Suspension Of Air Traffic With UK Until 16 April 2021

Posted by: Gherson Immigration

On 11 March we posted a blog on this site confirming that the Russian Government had extended its ban on direct flights between Russian and the UK until 11:59pm on 16 March 2021. The Russian authorities have recently announced a further extension to this travel ban, which will now last until 23.59 pm on 16 April 2021. It is possible that this suspension of flights may be extended still further, depending on the epidemiological situation at the time. Please be aware, therefore, of the possible disruption to any future travel plans you may have.

Russian visa application centres continue to operate amid the current flight restrictions at this time.

Passengers entering the UK will continue to be required to provide a negative PCR test result within 72 hours of their departure time. Upon arrival, all passengers are required fill out a passenger locator form at the border, and are subject to national lockdown and quarantine restrictions. Anyone arriving from the countries listed on the “red list” (and those travellers who had been in or through a country on the “red list” in the last 10 days) will be refused entry to the UK, unless they are British or Irish national, or have residence rights in the UK. British and Irish nationals, and those with residence rights in the UK will be allowed to enter but must quarantine for 10 days in a managed quarantine hotel. Please see our previous blog for more information.
