More Courts Shut Due To Coronavirus Outbreak

Posted by: Gherson Immigration

Following a wide-ranging debate over how the justice system will withstand the coronavirus pandemic, courts on the Isle of Wight have officially announced their closure from 24 March 2020, until further notice.

It was reported that a member of the Isle of Wight court staff confirmed to the County Press that no legal staff or members of the Crown Prosecution Service were left in the building. As all court business has been suspended, no new hearings will now appear before magistrates or courts on the island.

This comes just one day after reports of fear over “dirty, dilapidated courts” in London that could increase the spread of the coronavirus spread. We will be monitoring announcements made by the UK judiciary and will be updating our posts on this site.
