Overseas Visitors Records Office (OVRO) To Re-Open On 29 March 2021

Posted by: Gherson Immigration

In line with the upcoming easing of government lockdown restrictions, the OVRO has announced that their offices are due to re-open and resume services from Monday 29 March 2021.

The OVRO has provided the following important points to note:

Attending a pre-booked appointment:

  • Customers with pre-booked appointments between 29 March and 30 April 2021 under the OVRO’s current system should attend their appointment as normal. All attendees will be checked against the booking list upon arrival and should ensure they arrive on time and with the correct documents.

Booking an appointment:

  • Customers with pre-booked appointments between 4 May and 16 August 2021 under the OVRO’s current system should regard their appointments as having being cancelled. Customers will receive further advice to access the new system in April 2021 via the OVRO website.
  • Registration/Appointment attendance made under the current booking system will not be accepted from 4 May 2021.
  • Customers will be required to create an account and book a new appointment under the new OVRO system to be launched in April 2021. The first appointments to be made available will be from 4 May 2021.
  • The current OVRO booking facility remains deactivated and therefore, customers who have made a booking under the current system will not be able book/amend their appointment.

The OVRO continues to maintain a high level of compliance and safety standards which includes social distancing within their public and staff areas. Hand sanitisers and wipes are available upon arrival and face coverings must be worn by all customers.

We will aim to provide further details about the OVRO’s new system once more information becomes available.
