United States Citizenship And Immigration Services (USCIS) Update: Application Support Centres (Ascs) Expected To Open On Or After 4 June 2020

Posted by: Gherson Immigration

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the US implemented shelter-in measures which consequently prompted the USCIS to temporarily suspend all services as of 18 March 2020.

Further to our previous blog regarding an ease on lockdown measures in certain countries, on 24 April 2020, the USCIS announced its intention to reopen centres to the public, including application support centres (ASCs), on or after 4 June 2020.

The announcement confirms that once the offices reopen, USCIS will “automatically reschedule ASC appointments” which were cancelled during the temporary closures on 18 March 2020. There has been no announcement with regards to the reopening of USCIS Premium Processing, which temporarily became unavailable on 20 March 2020.

Gherson are continuing to monitor these developments and announcements. If you are an employer who needs assistance with sponsoring a foreign national or if you are looking to study, work, visit or migrate to the UK, please do not hesitate to contact us and we would be happy to assist you.

Please note that the information in this blog is current at the date and time of posting.
