Hong Kong British National (Overseas) status holders: You can still enter the UK with “Leave Outside the Rules” until 21 June 2021 – Deadline Extended

The BNO visa route is for British Nationals Overseas (“BNO”) status holders (and immediate family members) who are ordinarily resident in Hong Kong or the UK. This new route opened for applications on 31 January 2021.

On 13 May 2021, the Home Office guidance was updated to reflect an extension to the deadline for entering the UK with ‘Leave Outside the Rules’ under this category until 21 June 2021.

Warning – do not lie on your visa application form

It is imperative when making applications to the Home Office that all information provided is accurate and true. False information should never be provided as this can lead not only to your application being refused, but also to a potential ban from entering the UK for up to 10 years.

We explore here some of the ramifications of submitting false information to the Home Office and the importance of obtaining reputable immigration advice.
