Roger Gherson, LLB Hons, FRSA, Principal, Solicitor
Holds a law degree from University College, London. Established Gherson and Co in 1988. He has over 20 years experience in all aspects of immigration and nationality law and related human rights work both within the UK and internationally. His expertise covers the full spectrum of business/investor/employment related immigration as well as personal immigration matters. Named as an expert in all the leading guides to immigration lawyers, Roger Gherson has a reputation for tenacity, reflected in the firm’s breadth of litigation work, which includes immigration tribunals, judicial review in the High Courts, the Special Immigration Appeals Commission and the European Court of Human Rights. He also has in-depth knowledge of human rights and asylum claims (private only), whether in the context of extradition/national security proceedings or otherwise. He is regularly quoted in the legal and business press on immigration and nationality matters.
Kathryn Bradbury, LLB Hons, Solicitor
Holds a law degree from Nottingham Trent University. Prior to joining Gherson and Co in 2001, worked with the Legal Services Commission. Practices in all areas of UK and EU immigration and nationality law, with extensive experience in personal immigration including applications in civil partnership, unmarried partners, marriage, and child cases. Also experienced in corporate immigration and naturalisation work. Substantial experience of appeals and judicial review cases. Regularly contributes articles on immigration to the press, with a particular focus on civil partners.
Georgina Wilson, BA Hons, Employed Barrister
Holds a degree in Russian and French from the University of Cambridge and was a Visiting Study Fellow at the University of Oxford Refugee Studies Programme. Completed the Common Professional Examination at City University London and the Bar Vocational Course at the BPP law school. Called to the Bar in 2003, practising in immigration, human rights and criminal law. Joined Gherson and Co in 2005. Experienced in complex personal immigration cases, asylum, human rights litigation and nationality law. Has worked in Russia and as a consultant to the UK Department for International Development (DFID). Speaks fluent Russian and French, and good German.
Joe Levtov, MA, Solicitor
Holds a degree in English from Queen Mary and Westfield College London and an MA in Slavonic and Eastern European Studies from the School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies, London University. He is fluent in Russian. He undertook his Common Professional Examination and Legal Practice Course with the College of Law in Birmingham and London. Joined Gherson & Co in February 2000. Practices primarily in personal immigration law, with particular expertise in human rights cases.Lubov Galyarnyk, BA, Solicitor
Holds a Bachelors degree in English and German from Precarpethian University in Ukraine. Completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at BPP law school. Has worked in immigration law since 2001 and is accredited as a Senior Caseworker under the Solicitors Regulation Authority Accreditation Scheme for those giving advice on immigration. Expertise in all areas of immigration and nationality law, specialising in asylum, human rights, family immigration and entry clearance (visa) applications. Holds a Bachelors degree in Law and a Masters in Law from the International Science and Technology University in Kiev. Completed the Common Professional Examination (CPE) and the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at London Metropolitan University. Specialising in all areas of Immigration Law (Level 1 accredited Caseworker under the SRA Accreditation Scheme), particularly asylum, corporate immigration, family immigration, nationality, immigration appeals, and Judicial Reviews. Holds a Masters in Law from Kiev State University and a Graduate Diploma in Law from the BPP Law School in London. Speaks five languages.
Lucy Taylor Gee, BA, Barrister, non-practising
Holds a degree from York University and a Diploma in Law from the College of Law in London, where she also completed the Bar Vocational Course. Joined Gherson and Co in 2006. Specialises in nationality applications and also works in the areas of human rights. Speaks Danish and Spanish.
Elena Rosa Brunet, MA, MPhil
Holds a Masters (MPhil) degree from the University of Oxford. Joined Gherson and Co. in 2007. Prior to joining Gherson and Co. she worked at Wilson and Co. solicitors and for Migration Expert, where she worked as an Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) Level 3 accredited caseworker. Accredited as a Senior Caseworker under the Solicitors Regulation Authority Accreditation Scheme for those giving advice on immigration. Extensive experience of corporate work permit applications, of applications under the Highly Skilled Migrants Programme (HSMP), and of student cases, family immigration and nationality. Lisa Amos joined Gherson and Co. in 1999 and is a specialist in all types of work permit applications. She also deals with HSMP applications. Before coming to Gherson and Co. she worked with the UKCC (now the Nursing and Midwifery Council).
Leonora Kruger, paralegal
Leonora Kruger joined Gherson and Co. in 2006 and is a specialist in work permit applications. She also deals with HSMP applications. Prior to joining Gherson and Co. she worked at Breytenbach solicitors in their work permit department. She also has experience of work in charities and non-governmental organisations (NGOs). She holds a Diploma in Public Relations and Communication, and is currently studying through the University of South Africa (UNISA) for her Bacherlor of Arts, specialising in Development Studies through UNISA (University of South Africa). She speaks Afrikaans and some Spanish.
Jennifer Hollowood, LLB Hons
Holds a Bachelor's degree in law (LLB) from University College London. Joined Gherson and Co. in 2007. Prior to joining Gherson and Co. she worked for four years for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Sudan, Egypt and Tanzania. Expertise in asylum and human rights cases and related aspects of immigration and nationality law.Karen Collins, LLB Hons
Holds a Bachelor's degree in law (LLB) and a Batchelor of Arts degree both from the National University of Ireland, in Galway, Ireland. Completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the College of Law in Guildford UK. Joined Gherson and Co. in 2007. Deals with all areas of UK and European immigration law, in particular family immigration.
