Yesterday the Home Office released an update in respect of applicants who wish to make applications under the Global Talent, Start-up or Innovator visa categories and who may have been unable to do so due to COVID-19.
Global Talent visa
The updated COVID-19 guidance confirms that where an endorsement from an endorsing body has expired because the applicant has not been able to make an application for a visa, the endorsement will still be accepted if both:
- it was granted on or after 24 January 2020; and
- the applicant applies for their Global Talent visa before 1 January 2021
Applications that do not meet these requirements will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Start-up or Innovator visa
If an applicant applying under the Start-up or Innovator visa categories has been unable to travel to the UK resulting in the endorsement expiring, the guidance confirms that they may still be eligible for a visa. All cases in these circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
If you have any queries about applying for a Global Talent, Start-up or Innovator visa, or if you are concerned about your status in the UK, please do not hesitate to contact us.
