Healthcare Workers No Longer Exempt From Quarantine Rules In The UK

Posted by: Gherson Immigration

The Home Office have released an update to the guidance confirming which travellers are exempt from border rules in the UK. In a further move to prevent the spread of COVID-19, healthcare workers are no longer exempt from the border rules. This means they will now be required to self-isolate for 14 days after they arrive, unless travelling from certain countries or territories.

The Home Office has published a comprehensive list which specifies which travellers are exempt from border rules and who will not need to quarantine for the mandatory 14-day period. The list currently includes travellers from within the Common Travel Area (CTA), people who live in the UK but work in another country and travel back to the UK at least once per week and individuals arriving in the UK in order to attend pre-arranged treatment.

If you require further information on whether you will be required to quarantine on arrival in the UK, please refer to our blogs or contact us
