Immigration Latest From Gherson

Posted by: Gherson Immigration

Gherson is a London law firm specialising in UK immigration, nationality, extradition and Human Rights law.

As the world of UK immigration law is continuously evolving, with new immigration routes, new guidance and new rules being implemented regularly by the Home Office, it is essential to keep up-to-date with the latest immigration news and announcements. We aim to report on the majority of these changes via our blogs. We also often post overviews of the various immigration routes and discuss requirements within the different visa categories.

So what have we been talking about this week?

Airlines To Introduce Digital “Vaccine Passports”

This blog explores the very topical introduction of ‘vaccine passports’, aimed at allowing passengers to share their COVID-19 vaccine status in the form of a digital record. Under the new rules, those who receive two doses of an approved vaccine and register with the proposed app will be permitted to fly.

Overseas Visitors’ Records Office (OVRO) To Re-Open On 29 March 2021

After closing its doors for many months, the Overseas Visitors’ Records Office, known as the OVRO, has announced it will re-open on Monday 29 March 2021.

The UK Immigration Rules require certain individuals to register with the police upon arrival in the UK, and this registration must be updated each time an individual’s immigrations status is renewed. Such registration is completed at the OVRO.

To find out about the planned re-opening, the arrangements for those who have existing appointments and the procedures for those who need to book an appointment, see the full blog here: https://gherson.com/blog/ovro-re-open-29-march-2021, posted 23 March 2021.

Dolfin Finance Ltd – What Can Be Done If Assets Are Affected?

It has now been nearly two weeks since the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) imposed restrictions on the wealth management firm Dolfin Finance Ltd (UK). The restrictions prevent the firm from carrying on regulated activity, reducing its assets or dealing with any client assets or funds which it holds without the FCA’s consent.

We explore the situation in more detail here: https://gherson.com/blog/dolfin-finance-what-can-be-done-if-assets-are-affected, posted 24 March 2021.
