After some no-doubt difficult deliberation from the panel of judges, comprised of a group... Read more »

On Wednesday 15 May the inaugural Gherson staff go-karting night was held at TeamSport's excellent two-tier racetrack at Tower Bridge. Although this was billed as a team-building exercise, the air of competition was palpable as the karts' nippy electric motors sparked into action. Certainly my earlier pleas that I should be allowed to win because it was my birthday fell on deaf ears - our lawyers are a tenacious bunch. Just ask the UKBA. The session... Read more »

It has been widely reported in the press that a growing number of ex-members of HM Forces who are foreign nationals are being refused British citizenship or indefinite leave to remain based on convictions imposed under military law whilst serving in our armed forces. These convictions are often for very minor military offences. For immigration purposes, a military summary punishment counts the same as a criminal conviction in a civilian court, which is then highly likely to disqualify... Read more »

Hi! Im Victoria, one of the legal secretaries here at Gherson. I am doing a sponsored 10,000ft skydive in aid of Alzheimer's Society. This is a charity I feel strongly about as my nan is currently suffering from it and it is heartbreaking to watch! Thanks to people's kind donations I have managed to raise 124% of my target, which is absolutely amazing, but more donations mean more help and support to families of sufferers and also funding research into the treatment for the condition! ... Hi, I'm Gail, an in-house translator from Russian to English here at Gherson. I wanted to do a charity event in memory of my grandmother and as she and my grandpa used to ride a tandem on their holidays (see photo below!) I thought a cycle ride was appropriate. I chose the Alzheimer's Society as my charity because she also suffered from dementia later in life. They do great work helping families of sufferers as well as funding research into treatment for the condition. Thanks to people's... Read more »
