On 6 October 2014, The Home Secretary Theresa May signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Republic of Ireland. The first project to benefit from this new agreement will be a British/Irish visa scheme, which will allow Chinese and Indian visitors to travel to the UK and Ireland on a single visit visa. Gherson will be attending the British Boarding Schools Weekend [link in Russian] in Kiev, held in the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Kiev, Ukraine on 16-17 February 2013. This will be the eighth year this event has taken place in Ukraine with up to 30 public schools from the United Kingdom attending each year and looking to recruit Ukrainian students for academic programmes. In November 2011 Gherson represented a citizen of the Russian Federation in a successful appeal to the Upper Tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) against the entry clearance officer, Moscow. The appeal was against the refusal of a family visit visa to allow a father to join his wife and son in the UK.
