On 30 April 2015, in a landmark decision, Judge Christoph Bauer of the Regional Court in Vienna refused to order the extradition of Dmitry Firtash to the US, finding that the evidence was insufficient and, more significantly, that the US request was politically motivated. Measures introduced to make landlords legally responsible for checking the immigration status of their tenants have lead to landlords deliberately discriminating against people who don't have a British passport, new report by the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants ("JCWI") has found. The Home Office has released a new Statement of Changes in the Immigration Rules, HC 347, dated 17 September 2015. With effect from 15 October 2015, the Overseas Domestic Worker Employment Contract at Appendix 7 will have various amendments made to the document. Earlier this month, French President, Francois Hollande proposed a meeting of the leaders of France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine in Paris to discuss the situation in Ukraine . The rules requiring Tier 1 applicants to provide criminal record certificates are now in force . Since 1 September 2015 all Tier 1 Investor and Entrepreneur Migrants applying for entry clearance to the UK now need to obtain an overseas criminal record certificate which they will need to provide when submitting their applications. Worrying drop in number of investors coming to the UK There has been much coverage of the latest annual net migration figures, which showed a record high of 330,000 in the year to March. Debate erupts over official terminology - "Migrant Crisis" or "Refugee Crisis"? Immigration Bill to introduce six month jail sentence for illegal workers The Government has announced that the forthcoming Immigration Bill will include a new criminal offence of illegal working, punishable by up to six months' imprisonment and an unlimited fine in England and Wales. Rapper Tyler, The Creator Banned from the UK The rapper Tyler, The Creator was turned away at the UK border last week and informed that he was banned by the Home Secretary, Theresa May, from entering the UK for the next three to five years, apparently on the basis of the lyrical content of his music.
